Joan “Gale” Wiles, 72, of Winston-Salem went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. She was born to the late Corbet Alton Wiles and Margaret Bates Wiles on July 5, 1952, in Winston-Salem, NC
Gale graduated from Parkland High School. She was a devout Christian and longtime member of Woodland Baptist Church. She was the Office Manager of HomeTeam Pest Defense and retired after 30 years of service. Gale was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping and most of all loved spending time with her Granddaughters who called her Grammie.
In addition to her parents, Gale is preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Wiles; sister, Shelby Nelson (Irvin Nelson); and niece, Tonya Carlton Thorpe.
Those left to honor her memory are, daughter, Wendy Brooks Hale; son, Chad Brooks; granddaughters, Alexis Brooks Hale and Georgia Rayne Brooks; brother, Micheal Wiles (Sharon Wiles); niece, Angela Wilson (Darrell Wilson); niece, Karen Carlton-Englebert (Eric Englebert); niece, Amber Kistler (Jamie Kistler); nephew, Shane Wiles (Erica Wiles); nephew, Chris Wiles (Laura Wiles); nephew Ryan Nelson; great-nephew, Joseph Weavil (Jodie Weavil); great-nephew, Jacob Weavil (Lindsey Weavil); great-nephew, Scott Wiles (Anna Wiles); great-nephew, Bryce Nelson; great-niece Reilynn Nelson; great-niece, Averi Kistler; great-grand niece, Karson Wiles; great grand-nephew, Shannon Wiles; and great grand-niece, Savannah Wiles.
A private service for the family will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday September 16, 2024, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mike McDaniel.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be forever grateful for any monetary donations made to the family to help cover the funeral and burial expenses for Gale. Your generosity during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated and will provide much-needed support. Please contact the family for any further information regarding donations.
