Joan Marie Slingo Pacula

Joan Marie Slingo Pacula, wrapped in the love of her family, peacefully ascended to join the angels, on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Joan, affectionately known as both ""Moo"" and ""Ma"" to her loved ones, was born on August 20, 1934 to Theresa C. Homeyer and Donald A. Slingo. She shared a 58 year union with the love of her life, Richard S. Pacula, who survives her. Joan devoted herself to their marriage and family and spent her entire life caring for her loved ones that she held so dear. She made certain that they were all aware of her unconditional love for them. Her legacy of family love lives on to be shared by future generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Treu, brothers Donald Slingo and Bruce Barrett. She is survived by her loving children, Stan Pacula (Lou Ann), Sue Swecker (Chris) , Jane Hinshaw ( Mike), Pam Yealy (David), Tucker Pacula (Denise); grandchildren, Ashley Swecker-Denton ( Grant), Tyler Hinshaw, Kristin Swecker, Corey Yealy, Lauren Frye (Orry), Katie Yealy, Madison Hinshaw, Nicholas Pacula, Carlyle Yealy, Savannah Pacula, Delaney Pacula, Leyton Yealy; great-grandchildren, Beckett Denton, Bella Denton, Tanner Denton, Camden Frye, brothers Robert Slingo (Angela), Dennis Barrett (Jean), and Tommy Barrett as well a host of family members that she loved and was loved by.
A visitation will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Monday evening April 7th from 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 335 Springdale Avenue, Tuesday, April 8th at 11:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Forsyth Memorial Park.
