Joan Duncan

Kernersville – Joan Arc Cronin Duncan, 87, passed away on June 28, 2021, at Kernersville Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County, Mississippi to the late Mary Dorcas Britt and Casper Carl Cronin. Joan met her husband, David, in New Orleans, while he was serving in the US Navy. Their instant friendship turned into a 64-year long marriage. Joan was considered a master seamstress and having a collection of many different sewing machines. She was an avid gardener and loved growing her peanuts. Joan made it a mission to bring her Mississippi Cajun Cuisine with her wherever she went. She was clever, witty, and may have been small in stature, but was a force to be reckoned with.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her son, Stacy Duncan; and her sister, Lois Pearl.

Surviving are her husband, David Duncan; son, Todd Duncan (Polly); five grandchildren, Ryan Duncan, Savannah Chamberlain (Mandy), Kyle Duncan (Jason), Cody Marble, Colten Marble (Shawn); and one great grandchild, Catherine Marble.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville with Bishop Charlie Collins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in Meadow Cemetery, Meadow, Utah.
