Joan Puckette Cox

Mrs. Joan Grey Puckette Cox, 81, of Advance, NC, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024.  She was born May 21, 1942, in Lynchburg, VA, to the late Walter William Puckette and Marion Grey Layne Puckette. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Norman Cox, who passed away in November of 2021 after 55 years of marriage; one brother, Walter William Puckette, II; and one sister, Donna Puckette Davis.  Surviving are her son, Jeffrey David Cox (Aimee Fincher); daughter, Kelly Suzanne Cox Jones (Barry Jones); three grandsons: Austen David Jones, Dylan Alexander Cox, and Colten Grey Jones; one granddaughter, Addyson Elizabeth Cox; two sisters, Nan Wallace (Vernon) and Merle Herndon (Billy); brother-in-law, Ernie Davis; sister-in-law, Beverly Puckette; and many loved nieces, nephews, and friends. A private family service where Joan’s ashes will be scattered at Siesta Key (The family happy place) will be held at a future date.
