Jo Ann Gordy Womble

Mrs. Jo Ann Gordy Womble, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Forsyth County on August 17, 1935 the daughter of the late Raymond Thomas Gordy and Anna Rebecca Caudle Gordy. Jo Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Vernon Womble, Sr., a son, Keith Womble, A daughter-in-law, Kathy Womble, a grandson, Christian Womble, a great-grandson, Eli Smith, a brother and two sisters. She is survived by a son, Clyde V. Womble, Jr. (Kim) of Fancy Gap, VA, a daughter, Deanna Joyce of Tobaccoville, 5 grandchildren, Lee Ann Smith, Candace Winfrey, Brooke Joyce, Brittany Joyce and Andrew Womble and 8 great-grandchildren, Isaac Smith, Gavin Smith, Jase Smith, Ethan Winfrey, Drake Winfrey, Landon Womble, Noah Womble and Brently Joyce. She is also survived by 5 brothers, 5 sisters and 2 sisters-in-laws. A casual family gathering celebrating the life of Jo Ann will be held from 2:00-4:00 Saturday, July 16, 2016 at King Christian Center in the U-Turn Building, located at 995 Brown RD. in King, NC.
