Jo Edwards

Mrs. Jo Ann Williams Edwards, 84, of Oak Ridge passed away peacefully at her home on May 1, 2018. She was born April 1, 1934 in Laurinburg, N.C. to the late Claude and Carrie Williams. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Central Baptist Church in Oakridge. She was employed with Guilford County Schools and retired as Cafeteria Manager of North West Guilford High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Edwards. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her two sons, Michael Edwards (Kaye) of Belews Creek and Richard Edwards of Jonesville; her daughter, Jane Johnson of Oak Ridge; four grandchildren, Jon-Michael Edwards (Shelly), Brockton Edwards (Jen), April Gallant (Michael), and Brandon Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Sawyer, Kellan, Anthony, Hannah and Gage; her brother, J. C. Williams (JoAnn); a special caretaker, Stephanie Jarvis. The family will receive friends from 9:30am until 10:30am on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Central Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 11:00am with Dr. Roy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens in Greensboro. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 533, Oakridge, N.C. 27310. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
