Mr. Jimmy Lee Rogers, 80, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016. Jimmy was born March 6, 1936 to Elmer Paul Rogers and Beulah Settle Rogers. He worked for over 35 years for The Journal-Sentinel Newspaper. A member of South Fork Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed working in his yard and garden and also liked to hunt. He was preceded in death by his father. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Faye Lawrence Rogers of the home; sons, Tim Rogers of Clemmons and Chris Rogers of Summerfield; mother, Beulah Settle Rogers of Siler City; sisters, Peggy Willett and Frances Rogers, both of Siler City; and grandchildren, Dani Rogers and Aaron Rogers. A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11 am at South Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Sewell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South Fork Baptist Church, 3830 Wayne Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
