Jimmy Ray Frye, 85, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Jimmy was born on May 4, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late William Wade Frye, Sr. and Stella Gough Frye. He grew up in Forsyth County and graduated from Griffith High School in 1953. Jimmy worked for Lucent Technologies as an Engineering Associate, retiring after 41 years of service. Jimmy was a talented square dancer, and it was at one of these dances where he met his beloved wife Louise.  He was a huge N.C. State football and basketball fan, and a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Wade, Jr., Nancy and Diane. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Louise Stafford Frye; daughter, LuAnn Steele (Flake) of Clemmons; son, Tony Frye of Winston-Salem; granddaughter, Jennifer Sanz (Tristan) of Winston-Salem; great-grandchildren, Drum, Charlotte, Emilia and Baby Sanz (due in March); and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Forsyth Memorial Park, with Rev. Timothy Wolf officiating. Due to COVID, the family requests that those in attendance practice social distancing and wear a mask to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA  22116-7023. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
