Jimmie Charles Hennessee

Jimmie Charles Hennessee, 70 of Pfafftown, a kind, good hearted Christian man, husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at Autumn Care of Mocksville. Mr. Hennessee was born March 1, 1938 in Forsyth County, a son of the late James P. Hennessee and the late Vergie Perkins Hennessee. He was a graduate of Northwest High School and received an Associates Degree from Forsyth Technical Institute. Mr. Hennessee was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and retired from RJR Archer with 30 years of service. He was an active member of Robinhood Road Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. He served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and served on various committees. Mr. Hennessee was longtime member of the Vienna Rescue Squad and he enjoyed bowling and day hiking in the mountains where he spent a lot of his time as a youngster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Teresa Lynn. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lowder Hennessee, son, Gregory C. Hennessee, 2 grandchildren, Austin and Erin Hennessee, brother-in-law, Tommy L. Lowder and wife Debbie, nephew, Michael Lowder and wife Dori, and a great-nephew, Gavin Lowder. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, September 22, 2008 at Robinhood Road Baptist Church with Rev. John E. Hackworth, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Robinhood Road Baptist Church or Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Mocksville. The family would like to thank the great staff at Autumn Care of Mocksville for their care and support during Mr. Hennessee's stay.
