Jimmie Gary ""Pud"" Church, 66, of Pfafftown died on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 8, 1943 in Wilkes County to William Albert and Bessie Eller Church. He was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church where he enjoyed his church and his special ministry class. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Iris Church, Melba Barnett and Alona Veneta Church and two brothers, Ralph Church and Gwyn Church. Surviving are his sisters, Edna Crotts of Oak Ridge, Doris (Clyde) Kearney of Pfafftown; his brothers, William Cears (Etta) Church of Aiken, SC, Edwin (Betty) Church and Bobby (Maxine) Church of Ferguson and Lloyd (Jean) Church of Wilkesboro; his sister-in-law, Jolene Church of Millers Creek and his brother-in-law, George Barnett of Winston-Salem. Jimmie was born with Down's Syndrome and was unable to talk in this life but we know he is in Heaven and talking with Jesus now. Jimmie was a blessing and a joy to all who knew him. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wilkes County with the Rev. Jeff Vogler, Rev. Jim Saul, and Rev. Kevin Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 1, 2010 from6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Special Ministries Class at Oaklawn Baptist Church, 3500 Kernersville Road, Winston-Salem, NC. 27107.
