Jim Sanders

Mr. Jim Sanders, 69, of Advance, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2013. Jim was born in Franklin, N.C. on November 4, 1943. He was the 5th of six children born to the late Ellis and Paralee Sanders. Jim was raised in The Children's Home in Winston-Salem, where he graduated from High School. He worked in the construction industry with B. H. Herring and was later self-employed. He was a member of Yadkin Valley Baptist Church. Jim coached Pop Warner football for 5 years, but his greatest joy was coaching his daughter, Ashlie in fast pitch softball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Ellis Sanders, Maybelle Hopkins, Katherine Tilley and grandson, Mason James Sanders. His greatest passion was church, hunting, running his dogs and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Debbie Elliott Sanders; a daughter, Ashlie Sanders and fiancé, Colin Potter; a granddaughter, Salem Paralee Potter; a sister, Dorothy Harrell; a brother, Gene Sanders; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday at Yadkin Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Craddock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. The family would like to thank Davie County EMS and Smith Grove First Responders.
