Jewell White

Mrs. Jewell White, 80, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2017 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on July 2, 1937 in Duplin County, N.C. to Johnnie and Flora Herring Miller. She was a devoted wife to Ivey L. White for 57 years and mother of two children, son Craig, and his wife Vicky of Clemmons; and daughter Debra and her husband Craig Hazeltine of Weddington, N.C. She cherished her three grandchildren Ryan and Andrew White of Charlotte, NC, and Marley Hazeltine of Charleston, S.C. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Lewis Miller, John Miller, Dave Miller, and Edward Miller. She is survived by four brothers: Tommy Miller, Jack Miller, Art Miller, and Dennis Miller; and four sisters: Kay Mason, Pat Howard, Jackie Stroud, and Peggy Creech; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. White was a life-long member of Forsyth Friends Meeting. She worked as a realtor, Mary Kay consultant and as a CNA providing in-home care for several years. She loved her family, family gatherings, cooking, watching Cardinals baseball, making banana pudding, and "throwing a pig pickin". The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers and staff at the Brian Center, Regency Care in Clemmons, and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Center in Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be held at Forsyth Friends Meeting, 800 Jonestown Road, Winston-Salem, N.C. on Saturday, September 9th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation and a pig pickin' in Jewell's honor will be held afterwards in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Forsyth Friends Meeting, 800 Jonestown Road, Winston-Salem, NC, 27103. (Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek)
