KERNERSVILLE-Jewel Eaton, 87, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015. She was born May 8, 1927 in Forsyth Co. to the late Noble Casper and Carrie Landreth Eaton.
Jewel was an active member of Goodwill Baptist Church as long as her health allowed. She loved to sing and was a member of the choir and served as the church Sunday school secretary for many years. Jewel retired from Hanes Brand, Inc. formerly Adams Millis after many years of service. She completed a three year correspondence course in the study of commercial art and design. She was presented a diploma granted by the art school for successful completion. During her life she painted several pictures for family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Margie and Vera Eaton; and three brothers, George, David and Tom Eaton.
Surviving are two sisters, Nealie Watson of Pilot Mtn, and Pauline Watson of King; a special niece and nephew, Ruth Ann and Jerry Greene of King; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Greg Mullis and Rev. Mervin Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
