BELEWS CREEK-Jettie Hawkins Crim, 85, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009, at her home. She was born February 19, 1924 in Stokes Co. to the late Henry and Maggie Knight Hawkins of Sandy Ridge, NC. Jettie retired from Hanes Knitting, was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Belews Creek Fire Department. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, Jettie was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Crim, Jr. Surviving are one son, Donald Crim and wife, Suzanne, of Belews Creek; one daughter, Patsy Williard and husband, David, of Kernersville; two sisters, Ruth Reid of Walnut Cove, and Lillie Preston of Belews Creek; a sister-in-law, Gerri Crim, of Hampton , Virginia; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren , several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Shirley Benson and Ruby Cordell. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Goodwill Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Mullis officiating. A private committal service will be on Wednesday, December 16. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at Jettie's home. Memorials may be directed to Goodwill Baptist Church, 3110 Piney Grove Road, Kernersville, NC 27284 and Hospice of Winston-Salem, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
