Jessie Katherine Doub Flynn

Mrs. Jessie Katherine Doub Flynn, 85, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008. She was born June 6, 1923 in Forsyth County to the late John F. and Alma Tate Doub. She married Lloyd Columbus Flynn on January 31, 1947. Mrs. Flynn was an active member in Bethania Moravian Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She also cared for children for many years from her home and at Horizon's. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flynn was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, George and Lonnie; four sisters, Ruth Goins, Margaret Lee, Nellie Mae Moore and Mary Samuels; and one brother, Toby Doub. Mrs. Flynn is survived by her three daughters, Alma Flynn of Bethania, Mary Scott (Tim) of Tobaccoville and Rebecca Lloyd Flynn of Winston-Salem; two grandsons, Andy Scott (Liz) of Winston-Salem and Eric Scott (Charly) of King; two sisters, Johnnie Bailey of Mocksville and Pat Douglas (Tom) of East Bend; three brothers, Frank Doub (Novella) of Pfafftown, Jack Doub (Ramona) of Advance and Jerry Doub (Chris) of Winston-Salem; numerous nieces and nephews; also special friends, Evelyn and Roumell. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 21 at Bethania Moravian Church with the Rev. Wayne Byerly officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 P.M Saturday afternoon at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Mrs. Flynn's loving and caring church family and also to Dr. John Davis at Salem Family Practice for 18 years of extraordinary care.
