Mrs. Jessie Pardue Cromer, 87, of Winston-Salem, NC, made her way to heaven on April 26, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Jessie was born in Yadkin County on September 8, 1936 to the late John D. Pardue and Cornelia Messick Pardue. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Cromer of 56 years. After 26 dedicated years, Jessie retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco. After retirement, she enjoyed trips to the library and to Biscuitville, crocheting, feeding the birds, working in her flower garden, trips to the beach and watching NASCAR Races. She especially enjoyed her weekly, Wednesday night supper at Moe’s Southwest Grill in Clemmons. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Jessie was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Gold Hill, NC. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jason (Connie) Cromer; her daughter, Sharon (Brent) Cooke; her grandchildren, Nick (Jessica) Cromer, Taylor Cromer (Taylor Hill), Matt Cooke and Eric Cooke; brother, Johnny (Glenda) Pardue; sisters, Betty Milholand and Nancy (William) James, along with a host of special nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Scott Swix officiating. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the care and love shown to Jessie throughout her stay. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
