Mr. Jessee Cleo Holley, 91, of Clemmons, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 27, 1920 in Winston-Salem to Jesse Cleveland Holley and Ollie Gibbs Holley. He was owner and operator of Holley Printing Service. Mr. Holley was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church where he served as deacon, trustee and teacher, and was a member of the Forsyth Lions Club until his health began to fail. He was a US Army veteran of five years before and during World War II serving with the 30th Division and the 63rd Field Artillery of the 24th Division in the South Pacific. He was married to Gladys Lee Williams on April 5, 1947. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Estelle Holley and Rosalea Southern; and two brothers, Charlie Holley and Oliver Large. Surviving are his wife; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Large; eight nieces, Sue White (Keith), Carolyn Stigall, Phyllis Large, Nancy Allen, Donna Barkson, Jean McKeown (Kenneth), Pat Sparks (Roy) and Linda Morris (John); and four nephews, Jim Southern, Wayne Holley, Larry Williams (Sandi). and Jimmy Williams. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9th at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Gus Thomas, Dr. Cecil Cave, and the Rev. Keith White officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
