Jesse Dakota Adams, (aka "Uncle Jess"), 28, passed straight into the arms of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 21, 2021.
A young life taken way too soon, Jesse was loved by his family and a multitude of friends. Jesse will always be remembered as being kind, respectful, fun-loving, hardworking, and "that one friend you could always count on".
He loved his family and little girls more than anything in this world. He often referred to his daughters, Skylar and Ezra as "Daddy's Girls = Daddy's World". And they were his whole world. The love he had for his mother, Dawn and for his brother, Cody, were unsurpassed. If need be, he would have fought the whole world for them. His extended family, whom he lovingly referred to as his godmother, Vickie and godsister, Tabitha, were always there for him whenever needed, no matter what the situation called for, and he loved them with all his heart.
Addiction plays no favorites. It destroys everything and everyone it touches. It rips families apart, hurts friendships, leaving heartbreak, pain, anguish, guilt and broken lives in the path of it's destruction.
Jesse leaves behind a mother and brother that loved him with everything they had in them. He leaves behind, two precious little girls that will never be able to understand why their Daddy was taken from them, so soon and so unfairly. He leaves behind a godmother and godsister who were always willing to support him and help him as only a family can. He leaves behind friends that wish they could have spent more time with him, and made more memories.
This is what addiction does. Jesse was tormented by his addiction to drugs. Some people people refer to it as a disease. It was more like a demon straight from hell. It consumed his every thought. The bad decisions that he made, stemmed from his desperate need to feed this addiction. He fought this demon every day for several years, until it finally took his life.
But Praise God, he's not fighting it anymore. He is with Christ now and the Victory is his! He loved his Lord and his Lord took him home to live with Him.
Jesse was saved at a very young age. He later re-dedicated his life, at age 19, on August 21, 2011, as he talked to, cried with and prayed with, our neighbor and friend, Barry Bingham (aka "Bear"). Bear arranged for Jesse to be Baptized the following Wednesday, on August 24, 2011 at Pinedale Christian Church.
Jesse's favorite Bible verse was Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid"? He loved it so much, he had the reference, Psalm 27:1 tattooed on his chest.
His favorite song from Rescue House Church was "I'm Gonna See a Victory" by Elevation Worship. The first time we heard it, he and I both cried. I squeezed his hand and told him, that would be "our song" because as his Mom, I believed he would see a victory. I believed it with all my heart. I just didn't realize he wouldn't get to see it with me. But he's seeing his Victory Now because he's Alive in Christ!
For years, addiction has tried to steal my baby, but our Lord and Saviour stepped in and took Jesse straight into his arms. No more pain, no more suffering, no more depression, no more guilt. Jesse is free from all of that now and is Alive in Christ.
Jesse was a proud High School graduate of Winston-Salem Street School on June 2, 2009.
Jesse had most recently worked for Smith Case Inc, as General Laborer, Shipping/Receiving Manager, and Purchasing/Shipping Department Supervisor. He previously worked as a "Tower Pup" (as he called it) for Wireless Turn Key Operations. He had also worked as an ASM at Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers.
He is survived by, his Mother, Dawn Adams of Pinnacle and his Father, George Adams of Greensboro, his Brother, Cody Adams (Special friend, Amber Nicole Terry), two Daughters, Skylar Grace and Ezra Abigail, Nieces and Nephews, Lane, Cheyenne, Levi and Riley Adams (Ayden Terry), his godmother, Vickie Willard and his godsister, Tabitha Jones.
