Jesse Kermit Sidden

Mr. Jesse Kermit Sidden, 86, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Surry County on April 19, 1925 to Jesse William and Myrtle Chilton Sidden. Mr. Sidden was the owner of J.K. Sidden Construction Company from which he retired after over forty years. He was a member of Sharon Regular Baptist Church of East Bend for forty five years where he served as a Deacon for forty years. Mr. Sidden enjoyed gardening, fishing and loving on his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Dwight Sidden; brother, Cyrus and three sisters, Lucille Sidden, Fannie Gambill and Rachel Hicks. Surviving Mr. Sidden are his loving bride of sixty four years, Collie Wilmoth Sidden; two daughters, Judy Morris and husband Larry of Pfafftown, Donna Lucille Sidden Doby and husband Paul of Greensboro; a son, Duane Kermit Sidden of Bethlehem, PA; seven grandchildren, Stephen, Amy, Timothy, Hope, David, Ian and Bridget; seven great grandchildren, Cailan, Camden, Lacey, Levi, Lily, Siddeny and Caleb; four brothers, Rex and wife Naomi of Traphill, Kelly and wife Bonnie of Traphill and Jerry and wife Evelyn of N. Wilkesboro; one sister, Rebecca Norman of N. Wilkesboro. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 22 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Paul Doby officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Community Cemetery in Thurmond, NC. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Monday, November 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
