Jesse Jones, Sr.

WALKERTOWN - Jesse Avery Jones, Sr., 76, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at his home. Jesse was born on November 24, 1941 in Jackson County to Norman and Georgia Creasman Jones. He was a very loving and generous person who always looked for opportunities to help others. Jesse was a handsome and quick-witted gentleman who knew a little something about everything. For the past 40 years, he was employed by Allied Tool of Kernersville.

In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Edyth Jones; a son, Jesse Jones, Jr.; five brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are three daughters, Cindy Jones Taplin (Ian), Pam Friend (Kenneth), and Penny Tolbert (Ronnie); seven grandchildren, Gray, Meghan, Adam, Sarah, Melissa, Carson, and Nicholas; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Virgie Bishop and Ollie Coggins; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Mohey Basyooni and Dorothy Wilson; and his 4-legged little girl, Coco.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Tom Southern officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, at the funeral home.
