Kernersville - Mr. Jesse Franklin Cole age 89 of Kernersville went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday February 13, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born February 7, 1921 in Stokes County to Charlie T. Cole and Pina Fulk Cole. Mr. Cole retired from RJR Tobacco Company after 29 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of Shallowford Baptist Church. Preceding Mr. Cole in death was his wife Elzo Bennett Cole, and five grandsons, Roy King, Keith, Ricky, Richard, and James Duggins, one step granddaughter, Toni Mabe. Surviving are two daughters Diane Elzy of West Field, Il. and Joyce Montgomery and one son, Tommy F. Cole and wife Alice all of Madison, a brother Herbert Cole of King, a sister, Earlene Smith of Arcadia, two grandchildren, Tina Dancy, and Tony Duggins, a step grandson, Michael Mabe, seven great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Bill James officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday, February 15 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center at 101 Hospice Lane Winston Salem, NC 27103.
