Jerry Dane Davis

Jerry Dane Davis, 76, passed away October 20, 2021, at Davie Nursing and Rehab. He was born on April 23, 1945, in Forsyth County to Alex Eugene and Bessie Irene Pope Davis. Jerry served in the USNR from 1964-1970. A Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS Forrestal, and was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Purple Heart. He will be remembered as a loving husband, caring father, and devoted grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Carolene Davis; two brothers, Harvey Lee and Ronald Eugene Davis. Surviving are his wife, Joan Horton Davis; sons, Paul and Scott Davis; brother, John Hampton Davis (Donna) of Advance; Joan’s daughters, Jennifer Rosser (Dave), and Angela Freeman (John Paul Mays); 13 grandchildren, and three great granddaughters.
