Jerry Scott

Mr. Jerry Theodore Scott, 76, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Jerry was born in Forsyth County to the late Alvia Scott and Hazel Todd Scott on April 28, 1944. He proudly served his country in The United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Jerry retired with over 30 years of service as an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor with Ingredion. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. After retirement Jerry fell in love with mowing, he loved his Bobcat zero turn lawnmower, and could not wait until it was time to mow again. He was an animal lover and will be missed by his cat, Gracie. He is survived by his loving wife Jane Parrish Scott; son, Eric Scott; grandchildren, Morgan Scott and Justin Baity; sister, Geraldine Vanhoy; nieces, Robin Vanhoy, Lisa Vanhoy and Shannon Davis. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Lynne Caldwell officiating. The NC Governor requires everyone to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
