Mr. Jerry Donald Johnson, 87, went to be with the Lord August 28, 2021, at his residence.  He was born August 3, 1934, in Wilkes County to the late George R. Johnson and Annie Lee Sparks Johnson.  Jerry was a longtime faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church.  He was a Christian man who loved the Lord and raised his family to love and respect others.  Jerry was a very respected businessman throughout his career.  He loved flying planes for peace of mind and the view he saw while in the air.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley Ann Welborn Johnson.  He is survived by his children, Brenda Kay Akin, Randy Lee Johnson (Sheila), and Ricky Donald Johnson (Dena); 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one brother Leroy Johnson of Wilkesboro.  A Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 Wednesday at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons Officiating.  Entombment will Follow the service at Forsyth Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
