Jerry Dean Haynes

Kernersville – Mr. Jerry Dean Haynes, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at his residence. He was born on December 17, 1940, in Wilkes County to Lonnie Matthew and Blanche Taylor Haynes. Jerry was a Retired Veteran of the United States Navy after 22 years of faithful service. He later retired from Piedmont / US Air after another 22 years. He loved to ride motorcycles, travel, and work outside in the garden. Jerry also enjoyed exercising and loved his Boomers Gym family. He loved animals, especially his grand puppies, Sawyer and Sandi. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Burchette Haynes. He is survived by two children, Deneen Haynes, of Greensboro, NC and Bryan Haynes (wife, Amy) of West Palm Beach, FL; he was also “Daddy Rabbit” to Lisa Boles and Linda Sanders.

A funeral service for Jerry will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Francis Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:30 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at 2:00 pm at Mountlawn Memorial Park at 196 Fan Key Rd, N. Wilkesboro, 27697. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont at 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, 27262.
