Jerry Crews

KERNERSVILLE - Jerry Wayne Crews, 61, departed to his heavenly home on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. Jerry was born on March 12, 1961, in Forsyth County to the late Minnie Cook Crews and James Crews. After graduating from East Forsyth High School, Jerry went on to become a licensed master plumber and the owner of Crews Plumbing and Repair. There were many things that Jerry was involved in. He was a devoted member of Belews Creek Baptist Church, the boy scout leader of Troop 944, as well as the gun safety instructor for the East Forsyth shooting team. There were many who looked up to Jerry for his wise advice, interesting conversation, and his overall love for life. He found passion in hunting and motorcycle riding, but most of all, loving his family.

As well as his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Crews, and Joey Crews; as well as his bonus daughter, Rena Nelson.

To carry on his memory are his loving wife of 20 years, Rachel Crews; bonus daughter, Rebecca Nelson; nine grandchildren; two nephews who he considered his sons, Jonathan Crews and Bryan Crews; two nieces, Trish Barnes, and Elizabeth Thomas.

A funeral service for Jerry will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Doug Cope, Pastor Kerry Skipwith, Pastor Ronnie Scott, and Pastor Jeff Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow the service at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
