Jerry Mack Bodenheimer

Winston-Salem- Mr. Jerry Mack Bodenheimer, 81, passed away November 27, 2011 at Springwood Care Center in Winston-Salem. He was born May 23, 1930 in Thomasville to the late John McChristian Bodenheimer and Mary Chappel Bodenheimer. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, as well as the Ardmore Men's Club. He was a graduate of Fairgrove High School in Thomasville, NC. Mr. Bodenheimer served his country for 32 years in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserves, and the U.S. Army Civil Service, and retired as Lieutenant Colonel. After his retirement, he began his second career by founding Bodenheimer Real Estate as a Realtor and Real Estate Appraiser. Mr. Bodenheimer was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Mark Bodenheimer; a sister, Mozelle Johnson and two brothers, Bernard and Basil Bodenheimer. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, JoAnn Craver Bodenheimer; a daughter, Debra Mutton and her three children; two sons, David Keith Bodenheimer and wife Emily, and Paul McChristian Bodenheimer and wife Tonya; four grandchildren, Lilly, Sam, Ben, and Lauren; a sister, Mabel McKinnon. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brett R. Cogan officiating. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1210 Bolton St., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
