WINSTON-SALEM-Mr. Jerry Wayne Bodenheimer, 72, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living. Jerry was born on January 11, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Arlie and Jessie Bodenheimer. He was a born-again Christian and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Jerry retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, wood working, jogging and traveling. Jerry was a very loving, devoted, and caring husband, father, papaw, and friend. Spending time with his grandchildren was what Jerry enjoyed the most. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Stanley and his brother, Michael. Jerry is survived by his wife, Diane of the home; son, Scott Bodenheimer (Dedria) of Lexington, NC; daughter, Jodi Bodenheimer of Carolina Beach, NC; five grandchildren, Austin James Bodenheimer, Erin Keith (Curtis), Payton Stanley, Ryan Huffman, and Payne Huffman; and the mother of his children and grandchildren, Gail Bodenheimer. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Ernie Smith and Rev. T.W. Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
