KERNERSVILLE – Jeremy David Brotherton, 42, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center. Jeremy was born in Cabell County, West Virginia on June 6, 1978. He was a 1996 graduate of East Forsyth High School and earned an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Forsyth Technical Community College. Jeremy used his engineering talent in various fabrication positions, including welding and specialty vehicle manufacturing.

Jeremy was a sports fan – he loved playing basketball and watching the Panthers. He was funny, charismatic, and quick-witted. His favorite role was being “Unk” to his niece and nephew, who were the light of his world.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Surviving are his mother, Teresa Brotherton (Les Crews); his father, David Lee Brotherton (Penny); his siblings, Jacob Brotherton (Laura), Josh Brotherton, Zach Amos (Brandy), Marlee, Jordan and Aaron Brotherton; step-brother, Tyler Floyd, his adored niece and nephew, Elle and Arlo; and his dog ‘Ted’.

With social distancing observed and masks requested, a service to celebrate Jeremy’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at The Crossing Church in Kernersville with Pastor Pete Kunkle officiating. Viewing will begin one hour prior to the service at church. The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice or to The Fellowship Hall Recovery Center, 5140 Dunstan Road, Greensboro, NC 27405.  Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
