Jennifer Jinger Lynn Blankenship Powell

KERNERSVILLE-Jennifer Lynn ""Jinger"" Blankenship Powell, 50, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born March 1, 1959 in Mercer Co., West Virginia to Alta ""Mitzi"" Worrell Crutchfield and the late Robert Fitzhugh Blankenship. Jinger loved her husband, children and mother very much and made a wonderful home for them. She also was an avid animal lover. In addition to her mother of Kernersville, surviving are her husband, Jeffery Parker Powell of the home; two sons, Jesse age 29, Jordan age 14; one daughter, Jenny Brady age 27 and husband Brian of Roanoke, Virginia; and one brother, Michael Crutchfield of Siler City. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, May 22, 2009 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, 3655 Reed St., Winston Salem, NC 27107.
