Jennie Vee West Walker

Mrs. Jennie Vee West Walker, age 84 of Winston-Salem, died Sunday, September 27, 2009. She was born March 18, 1925 in Davie County to the late John Asbury and Mattie Lola McBride West. Mrs. Walker was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clint West and Charlie West, two sisters Velma Alden McBride and Laura Lee Fry and one great grandson, Benjamin Price Walker. Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband Wilburn Walker; three sons, Jerry Walker and wife Karen of Clemmons, Aaron Walker and wife Debbie of Advance and Joel Walker and wife Lori of Advance; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother Bill West and wife Jean of Advance; and five sisters Zelma Reavis of Harmony, Emma Hartman of Winston-Salem, Josephine Reavis of Mocksville, Edith Fry of Winston-Salem, and Catherine Fry of Advance. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Yadkin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Waters officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
