Jennie Brookshire Knott

Mrs. Jennie Brookshire Knott died at Arbor Acres on June 19 ,2016. She was born in Wilkes County to Annie Lenderman Brookshire and Jay Brookshire on June 18, 1921. She graduated from Mineral Springs High School and married J. Robert Knott on September 15, 1938. She worked at Montaldos and later at Western Electric.

Jennie was the last of her immediate family, survived by one daughter, Nancy Manthey, and her husband, Robert; one granddaughter, Laurel Manthey-Silvio, her husband, Jay and their daughters, Haven and Payson all of Frederick, Maryland; one grandson, Keith Weldon Manthey, and his wife, Susan, and their daughters, Elise and Anna, of Alpharetta, Georgia.
Her husband, Robert, of sixty-six years, preceded her as did one son, Richard Thomas, and three brothers, Charles, John, and James.

Jennie was skilled at needlework of all kinds as well as in the creation of jewelry and greeting cards. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, participated in the women's group and sang in the adult church choir.

There will be no visitation. Burial services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Residents' Assistance Fund at Arbor Acres, 1244 Arbor Road, Winston-Salem, NC, 27104.
