Jeffrey Parker Powell

Mr. Jeffrey Parker Powell, 65, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023.  He was born July 5, 1957, in Princeton, WV to Frances Powell Eloshway and the late Harold Randolph Powell.  Jeff was a community leader and a very philanthropic man, giving back to whatever community he was apart of.  He was also a man of integrity and would always give you his honest opinion whether you agreed with it or not.  Jeff was probably known most for being the life of the party, he never met a stranger and unceasingly put others needs in front of his own.  He worked at Wal-Mart as a District manager for 28 years and finished out his career being the owner of J. Peppers restaurant for the last 12 years. 

In addition to his father, Jeff is preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Jinger Blankenship Powell and his father-in-law, James F. Crutchfield.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Julie Beck Powell; three children: Jesse Powell (Jacklyn), Jenny Powell Brady (Brian), and Jordan Powell (Emily); two grandchildren, Jameson Brady and Jack Powell; two sisters, Becky Gore (Tom) and Karen Dodd (Rick); two stepsons, Matthew Finnegan and Will Finnegan; mother-in-law, Alta Mitzi Crutchfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, June 17^th at J. Pepper’s Restaurant with The Rev. Michael J. Gehring, Ph.D officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the restaurant.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
