Jeffrey Vincent Patton

Jeffrey Vincent Patton, 44, of Greensboro passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Wesley Long Memorial Hospital. He was born October 1, 1965 in Forsyth County to William C. and Sharon Langford Patton. Mr. Patton was of the Methodist faith. He graduated from Forsyth Country Day High School where he was a member of the State Champion Basketball Team. He was a graduate of Greensboro College with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration in 1987, and where he was also a former member of the Board of Visitors, and was inducted into the NCAA Basketball Hall of Fame. He was a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Patton worked for Wrangler, a division of the VF Corporation. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George W. and Iris L. Langford, and Julia S. Patton. Surviving is his loving wife, Kathy Patton of the home; one daughter, Brianna Elizabeth Patton of Bowling Green, KY; two sons, Keegan Tyler Patton and Cole William Patton, both of the home; his parents of Winston-Salem; aunt, Jodi Patton-Athey and husband R.C. of Farmington; uncle, James F. Patton and wife Glennie of Advance; great uncle, Tom Lemmons of Winston-Salem; father-in-law, William P. Register of Fayetteville; and brother-in-law, Dr. Brent Register of Clarion, PA. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 4 at Advance United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cheryl Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
