Jeffrey "Jeff" Wayne Weavil

Mr. Jeffrey “Jeff” Wayne Weavil, 83, was born on October 22, 1940, in Davidson County, North Carolina, the elder son of Bruce and Nancy Weavil. He loved to share that he was born in his maternal grandparents’ home in ‘the corner room’ and was very proud of his heritage. He departed this life on June 1, 2024.

He was educated in the public schools in High Point, graduating from High Point Central High School. He attended Western Carolina University where he earned degrees in Business and Psychology. There, he also met his future wife and mother of their daughter, Dorothy “Chippy” Agnew Myers. Jeff and Chippy were married on March 27, 1965, and began an odyssey of devotion and delight. After graduating from Western Carolina University, Jeff enlisted in the United States Army and served as a member of the 902nd Intelligence Group. Upon completion of his exemplary military service, Jeff and Chippy returned to her hometown of Winston-Salem, NC. Here, they welcomed Kimberly Ann Weavil Sink into the world and built a life of love and service to the community.

Jeff worked for Wachovia bank for over 37 years in various retail management positions, finishing his career as a Private Banker in the Wealth Management department. Jeff was a member of the Twin City Kiwanis Club for 40 years. He enjoyed his fellowship with this group and was especially enthusiastic about the annual pancake dinners.

Jeff was preceded in passing by his parents, Bruce and Nancy Weavil, his younger brother, Steve Weavil, his beloved granddaughter, Kinsey Sink, and the love of his life, his wife, Chippy. Remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kimberly, grandsons, Andy and Corey Sink, their dad, Frank Sink, other relatives, associates, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13th, 2024, at Highland Presbyterian Church at 12pm noon. The family will receive friends an hour prior in the church parlor. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, 2730 Peters Creek Parkway.
