Jeffrey Allen

Mr. Jeffrey L. Allen passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 29, 2021.  Born June 25, 1955, in Knoxville, TN, to John Allen and Eloise Keever Allen, Jeff was a loving and patient husband, father, and grandfather. Jeff earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from The State Technical Institute at Knoxville, with high honors; his Bachelor of Science degree from High Point University, where he was a member the Alpha Chi National Honor Society; and his MBA from Wake Forest University. An engineer by education, he spent most of his professional career in IT sales. Jeff and his wife Loretta met, were married, and lived in Winston-Salem, NC. There they raised their family and attended St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. He was immensely proud of his family and loved to talk about his daughters and granddaughters. Jeff had an incredible gift for storytelling and an ability to fix almost anything. He had a love of animals and the outdoors, especially going fishing. An aviation enthusiast, he even attained his recreational pilot’s license. Above anything, he will be remembered for his unwavering love and dedication to his family and friends. Jeff survives in the hearts of the family who loves him: Loretta Almond Allen, his wife of 35 years; daughters Jacqueline (Bob) Stillerman, Katherine Allen (Nathan Powell), and Lauren Allen (Zach Jones); mother, Eloise Keever Allen; sister Sherianne Sullivan; brother Randy (Sheryl) Allen; and grandchildren Mary Allen Stillerman and Lucy Stillerman. A celebration of Jeff’s life and memory will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, NC, on Tuesday, December 7th, at 11:00 AM. In Jeff’s honor, memorials may be made to The Shepherd's Center, 1700 Ebert Street, Winston-Salem, NC, 27103 (where Jeff volunteered), or to Samaritan Ministries, 414 E. Northwest Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC, 27105.
