Lewisville-Jeffery Scott Dinkins, 41, the most wonderful loving husband and father died tragically, Thursday, July 7, 2011 in a drowning accident in Myrtle Beach. He died as he lived, doing for and thinking of others. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy for six years from 1988-1994. Jeff served during Operation Freedom and the Liberation of Kuwait. He worked at American Tire Distributors for 13 years until July 2010 when he left to devote his time to furthering his education while being a full-time stay at home Dad to his children who at the time were 5 years old and newborn. He was attending Forsyth Technical Community College pursuing his accounting degree where he was recognized on the Dean's List for his academic excellence and achievements. Jeff loved life and enjoyed and was devoted to his children, family, and friends. He was a fisherman at heart and a Cowboy's fan pretty much from birth. He enjoyed traveling and loved Corvettes. Jeff volunteered his time serving his community as a member and board member of the Winston-Salem Jaycees for over ten years. Jeff has done so many great things in his short life but left so much to do and will be remembered and missed by many! Preceding him in death was his mother, Pamela Tedder Wood and his paternal grandmother, Reba Dinkins. Surviving is his wife, Beverly Shore Dinkins of Lewisville; two children, Zane and Presley Dinkins; father, Phillip Dinkins; maternal grandparents, James and Betty Tedder; two brothers, Bobby Everhart and wife Victoria and Phillip Dinkins and wife Misty; two sisters, Angela Johnson and husband Blake and Traci Fulp and husband Chuck; also surviving are several cousins, nieces, and nephews; aunt, Robin Pettitt and husband Robert; uncle, Mark Tedder and a ""boat load"" of friends. A funeral service will be held 2:30 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Lewisville Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Shields officiating. The burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Children's Charity of the donor's choice.
