Jefferson Howard Fields

Mr. Jefferson ""Jay"" Howard Fields, age 74 of Winston-Salem passed away at his home Monday morning December 20, 2010. Jay was born June 11, 1936 in Washington County, VA to the late Howard Jefferson and Pattie Louemma Hicks Fields. Jay was a very avid golfer; he was a truck driver for many years before retiring from the Town of Kernersville. Jay was a great step-father and will be greatly missed by everyone whose life Jay touched. In addition to his parents Jay was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are three daughters; Anita, Polly, and Penny. Four sons; Bobby, Kenneth, Johnny and Carl. One step-daughter; Cathy (Brian) Vernon. One step-grandson; B.J. Vernon. Four sisters; J. Eileene (Grayson) Ward, Peggy (Dale) Collins, Phyllis (Bob) Milton and Shirley (Roger) Albmany. Several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening December 22, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Brother Ray Shutt.
