Jeff Wayne Phillips

In the early hours of Sunday, October 2nd, 2011, Mr. Jeff W. Phillips, 63, passed on at Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Ctr., with his family lovingly by his side. Mr. Phillips began work at Brunswick County Local Government in 1994. In 1996 he became the Director of Engineering there. While at Brunswick County Mr. Phillips oversaw the construction of many projects, including the Courthouse, Jail, Cafeteria, and Social Services Buildings. He worked tirelessly to get the sewer system started in Brunswick county, with the West Brunswick Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant becoming one of his major accomplishments.The county experienced major growth while Jeff was the Director of Engineering. He always strived to help the citizen\'s of the county and protect their interests above all else. In the spring of 2009 Mr. Phillips was forced into retirement due to an assertive fight with liver cancer. He spent the final years of his life with his wife and daughter enjoying the mountains and foothills of North Carolina, whenever possible, between medical treatments.He is survived by his loving Father, Norman H. Phillips, his devoted Wife, Suzie L.
