Jeannine Joy (MacArthur) Walker, beloved wife of Alfred E. Walker, passed away suddenly on Saturday January 2, 2021. Jeannine was born to the late Aldelbert James MacArthur and Julia Virginia Zitko on April 8, 1935 in St. Louis Missouri. Julia passed away in 1955 and Jim married Ginny who was her beloved stepmother. She graduated Marquette High School and was a loyal member of Third Baptist Church in St. Louis. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and Order of the Eastern Star- Abigail Chapter 409. She was a computer programmer with the Pentagon and the N.C. State Government. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and family. In addition to her parents, Jeannine was preceded in death by her late first husband, Melvin C. Jeffords; and daughter Michelle (Walker) Winters. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Al, and daughters Lara (Walker) Tanaka (Kelvin), Janice (Walker) Smith (William), Michelle Joy (Walker) Winter (deceased) , and Diana (Walker) Reed (Ronald); grandchildren, Jason Hochheiser, Alexandria (Dean) Fields (Brandon), Jackson Dean, Lindsey Reed, LeeAnn Reed, Ella Reed; and great-granddaughter, Harper Fields. Due to COVID there will be no formal service or visitation. There will be a small family gathering. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Heritage Woods for the care they showed Jeannine during her stay.
