Jeannine Weekley Simpson

SIMPSON Jeannine Elizabeth Weekley Simpson, of Winston-Salem, died peacefully at her home on the evening of December 9, 2009. She was the widow of Bennette P. Simpson. Mrs. Simpson was born on March 4, 1933 in Venango, PA, the daughter of Cecil M. Weekley and Gladys Burnette Weekley, who both preceded her in death. She had lived in North Carolina since 1954. Her brother, David Weekley died earlier this year. Survivors include her son, Shawn P. Simpson; her daughters, Michelle S. Sherrill and her husband Michael, and Shannon E. Simpson; her grandchildren, W.J. Myers, Randall McGraw Jr., Jeremy Grinnell, Caitlin Marchant and her husband Daniel, Sarah Sherrill, and Dakota Simpson; her great grandson, Wesley Bennette Marchant; sister, Linda Lee Hicks of Adamsville, PA; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Weekley of Chambersburg, PA.; several nephews and one niece. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 14 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family requests that donations be made to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103; The American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060; or The Salvation Army, Area Command, 130-A Stratford Court, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of Hospice for their care and attention given to Mrs. Simpson, especially Freda Cowan, Jo Ramsey and Nancy Hackett.
