Jeanne Lynch White

Jeanne Lynch White passed away unexpectedly August 8, 2013 following a brief illness. Jeanne was born January 27th 1932 in Memphis TN to Lester and Lula Lynch. She was a graduate of Memphis State with a Major in Elementary Education and a Minor in Home Economics. She married her high school sweetheart George S. White in 1953. Jeanne was an elementary school teacher prior to moving to Winston-Salem with George to begin his long career with Western Electric in 1958. She was an honorary member of the Western Electric Pioneers Club. Jeanne was a long time member of Highland Presbyterian Church and then recently of Messiah Moravian. Being an orchid grower and a florist, her parents instilled in her a love of gardening and plants, especially her orchids. She had an overwhelming love of animals. Jeanne was a dedicated member of the Winston-Salem Dog training Club for more than 35 years. She especially loved working with her therapy dogs, Murphy, Molly, Kelly, Abby and Cary. She made weekly visits to Forsyth Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and Arbor Acres over many years. Most recently she and George enjoyed basket weaving with their good friends at 'Our House'. Jeanne is survived by her husband of 60 years, George. Her daughters Pattie Lamb (Bob deceased 2004) of Cary, NC, Nancy Drauszewski (George) of Rural Hall, NC , and 3 grandchildren; Rebecca Lamb, Matt and Emma Drauszewski. The family will receive friends at an open house Sunday, August 11th from 3:00-5:00PM in the home George and Jeanne shared for 45 years. A private interment will be held at a later date.
