Jeanice Bo

Jeanice Plansky Bo, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018, at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Walter John Bo. Jeanice was born in Wisconsin to the late Bill and Libby Plansky but spent her childhood in Escanaba, Michigan. Jeanice attended business school in Milwaukee, WI, where she met her husband, Walter. Prior to moving to Winston-Salem in 1960, they lived in Cincinnati, OH and Grand Forks, ND. She was employed by Thalhimer's for over 20 years and volunteered at the Baptist Hospital Gift Shop. She was an active member of the St. Theresa's Guild and the Golden Club at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, and she and her husband were very involved with Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School athletics. She is survived by her three daughters: Karen Eklund (Rick) of Clemmons, NC, Kathy Lane (Phillip) of Asheville, NC, and Mary Chavis of Asheville, NC; six grandchildren: Christopher Eklund (Courtney), Megan Stowell (Kevin), & Jennifer Barlow (Brad), Stephanie Lane, and Brian & Lauren Chavis; and three great-grandchildren: Grace & Alexander Eklund and Clare Barlow. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, NC, on Tuesday, January 16 at 11:00 AM with a visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. The family includes their gratitude to all the staff at Brookridge Retirement Community for the special care that was provided to our mother.
