Jeanette Grubb Walker

Mrs. Jeanette Grubb Walker, 88, passed away Tuesday evening January 19, 2016 at Southfork Assisted Living. Jeanette was born on November 20, 1927 in Ashe County, to the late Reece Grubb and Annie Stephens Grubb. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired from AT&T. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver Walker, Sr; and four brothers Ervin, Tom, Burl, and Reece Grubb. Jeanette is survived by two sons Oliver Walker Jr. and wife Deborah, and Chris Walker; daughter Patricia Walker Goldberg and husband Andrew; two grand-daughters Isabel and Laila Goldberg; two brothers Glenn and Bryce Grubb; and two sisters Essie Thomas and Sandra Miller. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association Western Carolina 4600 Park Rd, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
