Jean Vanhoy Tysor

 Ms. Jean Vanhoy Tysor, 79 passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born April 24, 1944, in Forsyth County, the daughter of David and Ruth Bennett Vanhoy.  She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, a graduate of Walkertown High School and was retired from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Tysor and a brother, David “Tick” Vanhoy.  Survivors include a sister, Ann Pettus of Kernersville; three nieces, Nicole Reavis (Jeff) of Kernersville, Portia Lakey (Robert) of Kernersville and Patricia Bottoms of Westfield and three great nieces, Katelyn Smith (Will), Matlyne Lakey and Clara Lakey.  There will be no formal services at this time.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church, 890 Walkertown-Gutherie Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27101
