Jean Brookshire Starling

Mrs. Jean Brookshire Starling, 74, of Winston-Salem died Monday September 14, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born February 3, 1941 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Carroll Smith and Mozelle McGee Brookshire. Mrs. Starling was an active member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Luther Starling and a brother, Bobby Brookshire. Survivors include one daughter, Stephanie Starling and husband, Jeff Griffin of Yadkinville; two sons, Keith Starling and wife, Beth of Lewisville and Steven Starling and wife, Nicole of Clemmons; three grandchildren, Chase Edwards, Dylan Edwards and Weston Edwards; one sister, Judy Edwards of Winston-Salem; and one brother, Jimmy Brookshire and wife, Kay of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church with The Rev. Dr. Chris Fitzgerald and The Rev. Dr. Mary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
