Mrs. Jean Poley Satterfield, age 68 of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at her home. She was born July 21, 1945 in Forsyth County to George and Irene Brendle Poley. Mrs. Satterfield had retired with 34 years of service with Bowman Gray School of Medicine. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Frank Mabry. On June 5, 1966 Jean married her High School sweetie, Dennis ""Butch"" Satterfield who survives her. Also surviving are one daughter; Georgianne Satterfield Hartline and husband Mark of Lake Norman; two grandchildren, Zach K. Jones and Savannah P. Hartline; one sister, Ann P. Mabry of Lewisville; her favorite niece, Teri M. Ingram and husband Mike and also her two favorite great nephews, Jonathan F. and Christopher M. Ingram. A private family graveside service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, September 30, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or considering registering as an organ donor with Carolina Donor services www.donatelifenc.org.
