Jean Carole Rodgers Mitchell, 78, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center. She grew up in the Shoals community where she acquired her love of nature, which she would later paint. She graduated from Shoals school. After working many years in textiles, she furthered her education at Surry Community College. Jean was a member of Brims Grove Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain. There are many titles she embraced throughout her life, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mom, grandma and great grandma. She is preceded in death by parents Walter Rodgers and Annie Marie Simmons Rodgers, daughters Annie Renee’ Lynch and Karina Carole Lynch, brother Bernice Rodgers and sister Elsie Rodgers Davis. Left to carry on her legacy are husband Ted, children Angie Buss (Kirk), Chris Lynch (Tonya), grandchildren; Larry Marshall (Ciji), Aasha Marshall (Dustin Lawhon) and Brett Lynch, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Nolan and Tucker, 3 puppies, many nieces and nephews and her best friends Lynn Wiles and Rosie Dillman. “To love her and to be loved by her was the greatest blessing.” Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Brims Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Dean Barley and Rev. Allen Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Brims Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
