Mrs. Jaxie Hill Simmons, age 75 of Winston-Salem went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday evening at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Jaxie was born August 7, 1936 in Robeson County to Charles and Edna Ivey Hill. She retired from Wachovia Bank with 25 years of service and was of the Pentecostal faith. Jaxie loved life; she enjoyed cooking, reading, feeding the birds and spending time with her family that she dearly loved. Jaxie never met a stranger and she said that she tried to live everyday as if it were going to be her last. In addition to her parents, Jaxie was preceded in death by 12 siblings. Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband of 57 years; Jim Simmons of the home. One daughter; Julie (Bill) Bradley of Advance. Two sons: Mike (Kelly) Simmons of Norfolk, VA and Mark (Donna) Simmons of Newton. Seven grandchildren: Allison, Jacob, Thomas, Stephen, Amanda, Emily, and Stephen. Several nieces and nephews including, Myra, Rose Marie, Lisa, Patsy, Chris, Joan, Andy, Phillip, Ben and Arlan, as well as many friends and neighbors who knew and loved Jaxie. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall by Brother Miles Bryant. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall Wednesday evening January 18th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to: Family Worship Center, P.O.
