Jason Sattenfield

Jason Philip Sattenfield, 45, passed away of natural causes at his home on August 22, 2021. Jay was born on December 20, 1975 to Charles Lewis Sattenfield and Billie Sue Justice Sattenfield (Thompson) in Winston-Salem. Jay served in the US Army. He cherished his children, often saying they were his reason for living. He made special time with each of them, making sure they both knew how much they were loved. He was an amazing father. Having a sensitive heart, he was attuned to the needs of others. Just like one of his favorite DC characters Superman, he was always there when needed, the first to help. He loved his family, especially his children, more than anything and would do anything within his power for anyone. He had an insatiable love for music and movies. He was lyrically inclined and often sat in his “deep thoughts” and wrote lyrics to songs relating to his life. Music was a very important to him. Jay never met a stranger. He had love for everyone he met. “Many” friends is an understatement, as so many considered him their “best friend”.  He always had the perfect words to help anyone through a tough situation and never judged. He was the true definition of a friend. Diamond JC, it’s not goodbye our friend, it’s LATER. Jay is survived by the love of his life, Jennifer; his children, Jaden William Sattenfield and Jewel Lillian Sattenfield; parents, Charlie Sattenfield (Laurie) and Susie Thompson (Tony); brother, Jeffrey Peter Sattenfield (Ashley); a special friend, Jaden’s mother, Angela; and a multitude of many other loving friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, please send in the name of his children, Jaden and Jewel.
